poem

I used repetition, simile, and Caesura

Ginger ;)

I came home
I came back
I came to you
I came for you

Taking care of you everyday
may be the best thing
You lift me up like god does the sun.

Lick, Lick, Lick
Your tounge and tail move so fast,
as each breath comes out so quickly.
Your happiness makes me happy.
You take another lap then come in.
running up and down around the house so swiftly.
Jumping, flying, gliding, and back down falling.

You are happy
You make me happy
You make me laugh
You make me smile

TROUBLE

Trouble my Taylor Swift is most deficiently not my favorite song, but it is stuck in my head right now, so why not write about it. I don't really think that there are many things about her songs that are very "poem like" like enjambement and sonnets, but she does use various types performance methods. She puts accents on her words and emphasizes the language.
Another thing that she does is repeat words. Not like repeating a chorus, she repeats words right after each other like, "trouble, trouble, trouble." Witch is a good poem method to use to put emphasis on things and make people look a little closer at them. She uses some good techniques that I would think about using next time I write a poem.

Reading post

I am having trouble picking a book to read. I was reading world war Z and it was great, but I got board so i moved on. Then I started Hate List, but could not really get into it. Now I am reading Great Gadsby, but I have to read my World History book. I am thinking the Scarlet Letter.
I really like the story line even though i don't know much about it. I am interested and I don't think anyone else is reading it so it is OPEN! Im a very confused reader right not.

Comments

I reread through all of my comments and the research paper for the first time. I believe that one because I got a 72% and two because Dr.D said I needed to work on focus. I will choose my research paper. Dr.D talks about how I did not focus on what I said I would focus on, I did not have good enough sources, and that some of it was unnecessary. I would have a lot of work to do on this paper.
I have already scheduled a day in the writing center where I can get tips on organization and help on focusing more on one thing in the future work that I will do with this paper. I had altered my research question a bit after I started my work, but I don't think that all of my paper goes directly towards one or the other, so this is another thing that I can work on. I can also make some word choice changed. I thing that my research paper would be a  good choice and a good revising and editing experience for me.

plagiarism

I read the instructions for this first blog and I was like, "Oh great another one on those plagiarism things with the cites and stuff." I honestly think that it should be taught in middle school, but reminded in high school. If someone is caught it is there fault. They should be punished and whatnot on there own time not mine. I fell like the constant repetition and teaching is unnecessary for everyone to hear.
What Jane Goodall says is talking about sources and how important they are. They are important, and just because I say that talks about plagiarism is unnecessary, I don't mean that plagiarism is good. I am glad someone inspiring like Jane Goodall is talking about this, and I home that it inspires people that like her not to plagiarize and to cite their sources. I also like that the article about this gives its sources to!

Nervous Conditions=

I am a strong believer in giving everything and everyone a chance. Some people say that I am judgmental, but I only judge something on what I collect after observing. I was open minded to Nervous Conditions, but my lack of enjoyment when it comes to reading defiantly set me back. This seems like it has nothing to do with wether or not they read this book next year, but in my opinion it does. I believe that there should be a different and slightly shorter book that last about the same time as Mrs. Edwords class and with a similar theme. I also think that the way that we do the different layers were good and that those should be kept.
I feel like there are some things that set us (the class) back. If we would have read a shorter book, or started earlier it would have effected the discussions of leadership a positive way. We could have done a bit of time as a whole group, and the other group would not have been as board some days while ours was still in the book. This would help with maybe some planing and corresponding of the days we meet.
Something that I thought went well is how Nervous Conditions related to our class question. It talks a lot about community and culture, and it is the most relatable book to the question. It was very odious, and very easy to understand. I did not really see how it intertwined with Lord of the Flies, but I can now see the connection and understand how both stories relate to communities and cultures and how they correspond.
I feel like if there were to be a book that was just as focused on culture and communities joining together, but it was shorted and lasted the same amount of  time as the alchemist with Mrs. Edwards class it would be much better.  We could be more in sync with their class, but it might be more difficult to keep it with our class theme.

Tambu's actions

The way that Tambu acts at the homestead, at the mission, and at school are three completely different personalities and actions. The way she acts in some areas effect others, but like most teenagers they try and keep their lives separate. The way Tambu acts all around is some what similar, but there are some differences.
When she is at the homestead, Tambu is decent like anyone would be. She behaves and does what her family says, with rebellion. She is an ideal teenage girl. She works hard though and does show some respect for her family even though she does not want to. She "kicks and screams" but does go down and do what she is told. That is until it comes to school.
The moment Babamukuru offers her a chance for education she takes it no problem and no looking back. She drives for education, but while there  is some what stuborn and more grateful at the same time. At first she feels out of place, but quickly becomes use to it and starts have a stronger audited to Babamukuru and more understanding for Maiguru.
Again it all comes down to school. She is a perfect angel there because she is just so happy to be there. She prepares everyday and is ready. She makes such good grades she passes up Nyasha in a heart beat. She goes to Sacred Heart witch is the best place to go and is just as good as could be. She is great at school.

Nyasha

The first scene that I have chosen for Nyasha is the scene where she walks away from the dinner table. I feel bad for her in a way because she just seems confused and lost. She is just trying to find her self. I could try and understand why the writer choose to make her do this, and I think it is just for diversity, but she may grow on her rebelliousness like in chapter 6 where she stays out late.  I think mainly she just needs to find herself and her father putting so much pressure on her is not helping.
The second thing (as I mentioned before) was in chapter 6 when she stayed out with the boy. Again it was just her not knowing where she fits in to her family and home. Another thing about that is that when Babamukuru fights her it does not say much about either of their characters. They both did wrong and neither one were willing to admit it. All of the characters in this book have something incorrect with their personalities.

C layer 2 here I come

Working on the project was much easier for me than other people. I noticed that a lot of people did things where they had to wait towards the end so they could do it correctly (like the character map). What I chose was the reading guild witch was really easy because I was already use to doing it for LOTF. So, I just did that as I read the chapters to keep up with it. The second thing I di was the discussion of leadership. This one was awesome because it was already scheduled and I just needed to come prepared.
Another thing that was easy to keep up with was the annotations. A lot of people did not do that because they hate annotations, and I do too, but they were actually easy in a sense. You could not fall behind with that unless you fell behind on your reading, and even though it seemed time consuming I ended up spending about the same amount  of time as other people, but it was just separated out. Lastly I did the vocabulary test. This was the hardest, and that was only because I kept putting it off and I did it wrong. Even though it did not take thaty much time it was still stressful and I fell like I could have done a better job.
I fell like the Vocabulary test was the least helpful. I did not learn much from it unlike the other things. The most helpful was defiantly the Reading Guild. I helps me and makes sure that I understand what just happened in the chapter, and it prepared me for the quiz. Something that I need to make sure of as I go forward in the project is making sure that I dont fall behind because in the upcoming things that I choose it will be more difficult to keep up with it, so I need to time manage.

Post

Hey, whats up. I am doing my research paper for English and world history on have hurricane Katrina treated New Orleans economy in a long term way.  I thought that it would be really cool to learn more about this, and see what has happened in New Orleans. I am  going over everything long term, but I am most interested in the people and visitors in and out of New Orleans. I have learned a lot about what the mayor has done to improve the area, what they used their money for, and where that money came from. So basically hurricane Katrina was affected by the decrease in jobs, population, tourism, and food , but they also lost some cash in their rebuilding and regained it from donations and created a plan for future hurricanes.

Research Update

I have found 5 sources and done 2 notecards so far. The one thing that I am concerned about, in that I am trying to work out an interview with someone, but I don't know it i can get it in time for the 10 sources due. I really hope that I can get it done in time. It will really help my paper, and it would be awesome.
One of the other sources is the best thing I could find. It is seriously all I'd ever need. It is exactly what I am writing about, so it helps out a lot. It stinks that you have to use at least 5 in your sources, when I only need that one. Oh well, it still rocks. Im excited well more like happy... yay!

Purr and Yelp

Purr and yelp may be the number one best organizations ever. It is defiantly something you could start a militant over. It includes dogs and cats that need a home (two things that I love), and change them together into one amazing idea that has become a reality. It can be tacit described. Some organizations have a social system, but in Yelp or Purr, there is no-one parihia or worker higher. They are all equal.

They have students that are protégés to the workers before they go on there own with volunteer work, and you have to be a specific age. After the training, the person is inducted into the volunteer work and services. It is an all together cool program, and I really don't like having to incorporate wordily wise vocabulary into it.

World War ZZZ NOT

I just started the World War Z book, by Max Brooks, a few weeks before school started, because the movie is coming out and I have heard wonderful things about it. So... when I started I was like okay, cool, just another Zombie book. I was wrong, this is a new genre of books. It is like fiction from a non-fiction standpoint , but not historical fiction.
It is a guy interviewing people about the deviation sites of a just finished Zombie war. I am only a few chapters in, but it is deffinantly not a book that you can fall asleep reading. It's not as scary as it is just you imagining if you would do what the people are doing in these situations. It truly is one of the best books I have ever read. I would suggest it to anyone.

Osama Movie (free post)

So, I have really wanted to see the new movie about Osama Bin laden (I think that is how you spell it). The one problem is that it is rated R. My mom thinks it will be to mature and that it will be to inappropriate for me, but I have seen R rate movies before, but I am trying to convince her that is just violence and will be a great learning experience for me. She just wont buy it.
If anyone has suggestions for how I can convince her, please leave a comment. It looks really cool and I just WANNA LEARN. We... it is more of the fact that this particular topic interest me a lot. I Imdb'd it, and it just looks amazing. I hope I can end up going. Am I the only one that thinks that movie looks awesome???
