The way that Tambu acts at the homestead, at the mission, and at school are three completely different personalities and actions. The way she acts in some areas effect others, but like most teenagers they try and keep their lives separate. The way Tambu acts all around is some what similar, but there are some differences.
When she is at the homestead, Tambu is decent like anyone would be. She behaves and does what her family says, with rebellion. She is an ideal teenage girl. She works hard though and does show some respect for her family even though she does not want to. She "kicks and screams" but does go down and do what she is told. That is until it comes to school.
The moment Babamukuru offers her a chance for education she takes it no problem and no looking back. She drives for education, but while there is some what stuborn and more grateful at the same time. At first she feels out of place, but quickly becomes use to it and starts have a stronger audited to Babamukuru and more understanding for Maiguru.
Again it all comes down to school. She is a perfect angel there because she is just so happy to be there. She prepares everyday and is ready. She makes such good grades she passes up Nyasha in a heart beat. She goes to Sacred Heart witch is the best place to go and is just as good as could be. She is great at school.
Tambu does have multiple personalities, but she has passion and is focused on what every she does at all locations. At school she is focused on school and at home she is focused on her chores.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you. Tambu is a hard worker no matter what it is in, but she can be a little rebellious once we started getting into the book more.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Tambu does have a sudden change of heart when she is offered an education. In the third paragraph, there should be a comma after "there", "stuborn" is spelled stubborn, and "Some what" is somewhat.
